Vivekananda Assembly

Delhi Public School, Durgapur celebrated the birth anniversary of the true luminary, Swami Vivekananda on 11th January 2023. This day is also observed as National Youth Day.

The programme started with a tribute to the spiritual monk who had crammed immense labour and achievement in his very short life. The school choir dedicated songs ‘Mono Cholo Nijo Niketone’ and ‘Swadesh Bidesh’ to the spiritual genius with commanding intellect and power. A skit was presented on Naren’s second visit to Dakshineswar at Sri Ramakrishna’s house which later Swamiji had described as a ‘life changing experience’. That day not only spiritually enriched him, but also made him more determined to understand the nature and power of the mysterious saint. This was followed by a dance on ‘Hou Dharamete Dheer, Hou Koromete Bir’ by the students of classes 2 – 4. The poem – ‘Hold on Yet a While Brave Heart’, composed by Swamiji himself, was recited by a student of class 5, reaffirmed the fact to us that he was indeed a lion among men.

We still perceive his influence which is an inspiration for today’s generation. The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by Ekansh Kotriwal.
