National Library Day Celebrated at Delhi Public School, Durgapur
Delhi Public School, Durgapur celebrated National Library Day on 12 August 2026 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India. The celebration highlighted the vital role of libraries in fostering knowledge, imagination and a lifelong love for reading.
The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and garlanding of Dr. Ranganathan’s portrait, followed by a speech highlighting his remarkable contributions to library science.
Students of Classes VIII, IX and XI participated enthusiastically in a range of engaging activities, including chart-making, a quiz on National Library Day and the creation of a Book Wall showcasing their love for books and reading.
The celebration was an enriching experience that encouraged students to explore the world of books and recognise the library as a gateway to knowledge, creativity and lifelong learning.
