Delhi Public School, Durgapur, celebrated the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja through a special assembly titled “শক্তির আরাধনা – The Celebration of Divine Shakti”, embracing the spirit of devotion and the triumph of good over evil.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the felicitation of the senior citizens from Vivekananda Bhab Samaj. Their presence added a special warmth and grace to the occasion. Their participation reflected the cherished bond between generations and reminded us that their presence is a source of wisdom, guidance and blessings for everyone.

The cultural presentations beautifully brought alive the essence of the festival through a soulful Mahalaya recitation, devotional songs, the rhythmic tabla performance “Durga Paran”, the Bengali skit “Chandi and Kalketu”, and captivating dance performances on “Durga Ashtakam” and “Sajo Sajo Dashabhuja”.

Each performance reflected the divine power of Maa Durga and conveyed the timeless message of courage, righteousness, compassion and inner strength. The assembly showcased the students’ talent, dedication and deep appreciation for India’s rich culture and tradition, while bringing the school community together with the spirit of festivities and devotion.

The celebration concluded on a note of gratitude, reaffirming the values of faith, togetherness, respect for elders and positivity.
