78th Independence Day
Delhi Public School, Durgapur commemorated the 78th Independence Day of the Nation with a great zeal and patriotic fervor . The day commenced with the solemn flag hoisting by Principal Sri. Umesh Ch. Jaiswal and the Chief Guest, Colonel (Dr.) S.K. Patnaik, a respectable Army Doctor.
The inaugural song reignited a patriotic spirit that was followed by a skit on Pritilata Waddedar, Bengal’s first woman martyr. The Bulbuls paid their tribute to the valiant soldiers of India by their performance. The students’ portrayal of the Quit India and Chipko Movements was impactful as it emphasized the importance of freedom and ecological balance. The dance medley concluded the event, leaving the audience mesmerized.
Colonel Patnaik in his inspiring speech urged the students to cherish the freedom that was achieved after a long struggle and to strive for a progressive nation. The program ended with a vote of thanks by the Head Girl, Ritika Kumari.
