Munshi Premchand Jayanti
On 30 July 2026, a special celebration was organised at Delhi Public School, Durgapur, to pay tribute to the legendary novelist Munshi Premchand on the occasion of his birth anniversary. The programme, titled “Premchand: A Journey Through Life – From Dhanpat Rai to Premchand“, was conducted to commemorate his extraordinary life and enduring literary legacy.
The event was inaugurated with a Saraswati Vandana, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the offering of floral tributes to the portrait of Munshi Premchand. Insightful presentations on his life and literary contributions were delivered by the students, while a thought-provoking theatrical performance depicting significant milestones of his journey was also staged.
The celebration was brought to a fitting close with an inspiring address by the Principal, followed by a vote of thanks. The programme was successfully concluded, leaving the audience with a deeper appreciation of Munshi Premchand’s invaluable contribution to Indian literature and his timeless influence on generations of readers.
