“Gen Z and GenAI: How You Will Work in 2030”
Around 250 students of Classes IX to XII participated in an enlightening career counselling session titled “Gen Z and GenAI: How You Will Work in 2030”, conducted by Dr. Manoj Singh Rana, Assistant Professor, UPES Dehradun.
The session began with an introduction to Artificial Intelligence and the ways in which AI systems simulate aspects of human intelligence through learning, problem-solving, data analysis, content generation and decision-making. Dr. Rana then explored the changing employment landscape, drawing upon a March 2026 study to explain how repetitive, predictable and data-driven tasks are increasingly exposed to automation.
Students were introduced to emerging career areas such as Data Science, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Prompt Engineering, AI Development, AI Ethics and AI Interaction Design. At the same time, the session emphasised the importance of human capabilities including creativity, critical thinking, communication, adaptability and digital literacy.
The discussion encouraged students to view the future as one of human–AI collaboration rather than competition, inspiring them to remain curious, adaptable and future-ready in an evolving world of work.
